How is the executive branch related to the legislative branch in a presidential government?

    In a presidential system, the legislative branch makes the law, and the executive branch, carries out (enforces or executes) the law. Although the branches are separate and independent of each other, they relate in that the President enforces the laws that the Legislative Branch (Congress) makes.
