In the year 70 after Christ, there was a great rebellion of the Jews against the Roman rule, which was suppressed in the most brutal manner. In retaliation, the Romans collapsed an existing second temple, and Jews expelled from Israel. Still as a sign of the humiliation of the Jews, the country gave the name of Palestine, according to the greatest enemies of the Jews, from the time of the settlement of the promised land, to the Philistines. So the Romans did not in any way support the Jews to raise second temple, they destroyed it. Jews from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were monotheists, and they never went into polytheism, nor did they ever neglect the ten commandments since the time of Moses. In the diaspora, the Jews began to build synagogues as places for prayer and reading scriptures, which they were able to do, because everywhere in the world were successful traders, scientists, professors, in a word, were rich. Wherever they were inhabited, they formed strong Jewish communities, in which the rabbis were leaders in every sense, and as teachers where they educated their children, and as political leaders and prominent representatives of the society in which they lived.
