    The Maryland Toleration Act was an act of tolerance, allowing specific religious groups to practice their religion without being punished, but retaining the ability to revoke that right at any time. It also only granted tolerance to Christians who believed in the Trinity. Not my answer, so dont credit me

    I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but I'm guessing you're talking about the Toleration Act, which was passed back in the mid-17th century. And it didn't really grant the right to worship freely, if you consider the fact that non-Christians did not benefit from that law.
