According to this lesson, there are many issues that Texas currently faced, but which can be solved with effective action and leadership. Two examples are:

The water supply: Many people in Texas are concerned about the availability of water. The solution that is proposed for this matter is focusing on better conservation efforts, including the passage of legislation for this purpose. Energy use that causes environmental degradation: Damage to the natural environment of the state through the use of energy sources such as oil also appears to be high on the list of concerns for most Texans. A possible solution would be an increased reliance on alternative and renewable natural resources, such as wind and solar power.
