    Both the Thirteen Colonies that would give birth to the United States and Texas revolted against a tyrannical government: the Thirteen Colonies rebelled against the British government of His Majesty, and Texas rebelled against the tyrannical Centralist government of Mexico.

    Also, both their citizens organized militias in order to oppose government armies. Both their militias fared badly at the beginning, but managed to get the upper hand in time and won their independence over by the force of arms.

    Bot the Thirteen Colonies and Texas established a republican government, based on a constitution once they became independents.
