    During the Haymarket riot at least 8 people died as a result of the violence that day but despite a lack of evidence against the KOL union, 8 radical labor activists were convicted in connection with the bombing. After this riot the KOL declined as an effective organization due to its posture as radical union movement trying to abolish the capitalist system.
