Explanation: Leonid Brezhnev (19 December 1906 - 10 November 1982), was a Soviet communist and leader of the Soviet Union, ideologically defined as Marxist-Leninist. As such, he was an opponent of democracy and monarchy. He personally proposed reforms that Gorbachev would later implement, but in the internal plan of the state, he marked the decline in economy, corruption, inertia in technological progress, therefore in every practical sense. On the other hand, it maintained stability within the Communist Party by carefully finding the consensus on all major political issues. He was known internationally for his involvement in many international affairs, which also meant tension in relation to the West.
