    The Second Intifada (Al-Aqsa Intifada) presents the part of coflict between Israeli and Palestinians in period of September 2000 to February 2005.

    This second Palestinian uprising started against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza strip. Israeli soldiers significantly increased violence against Palestine inlcuding daily bombing and high artillery attacks on civilians. It is estimated that more than 6,000 people were killed during this period. The first 'Intifada' was from 1987 to 1993. The Arabic word "Intifada" can literally be translated as "shudder."
