    The term Iron Curtain is referring to the Soviet Union's influence on Europe after World War ll. After World War ll, the Soviet Union controlled most of Eastern Europe and was especially influential in the German capital of Berlin of which Stalin had control over the eastern side. Winston Churchill was a staunch critic of Communism and believed that Europe would collapse under Stalin's rule of Communism in Europe.
