Does this system need reform? If so, what would you suggest?

Do you think political campaigns should be funded instead with taxpayer money as they do in some other democratic countries? Explain your reasoning

Yeah I personally do. When we let large corporations to make massive donations to various political campaigns, we are essentially allowing them to bribe public officials to work for their benefit. If we were to switch to a political system based on the funding of taxpayer money we would get a better representation of what the common people want.
