    The transcontinental railroad played a major role in the creation of the Kansan-Nebraska Act. So the correct option in regards to the given question is option "C". The initial target for creating this Act was to open up several farms for agriculture and make it a feasible option to create a transcontinental railroad. The abundance of higly fertile farm lands made transportation a highly important criteria. Specially the creation of railroads was always in the mind. In the year 1854 the Kansan-Nebraska Act was crated to fulfil the creation of the transcontinental railroad.
