What forced the Congolese to work on rubber plantations

    Leopold II received rights to the Country during the Conference of Berlin. Around the time he became leader, demand for natural rubber started booming. Leopold started exporting this natural rubber. Without any laws against it, he forced Congolese people to work in his plantations.
