    I call it the "herd effect". In groups alot of people react to social pressure and will follow another person's lead whether they agree or not. Like a herd they will follow the dominant person. It's just how society conditions them.

    If you get the dominant person to agree alot of times they bring followers with them. The group that agrees make it more acceptable for the others to agree to be part of the original group. This continues to snow ball.
