What were the major cristisms of the New Deal? Many Democrats believed that too much power was being concentrated in Washington. Some people said the legislation had not gone far enough and others through it created too much government. Most socialists believed the economy would eventually straighten itself out and legislation wasn't necessary. Some people wanted to give the economy more time to recover and others wanted a federal takeover of most businesses.

    There were many criticisms of the New Deal, but the major ones were that "Some people said the legislation had not gone far enough and others through it created too much government."
