What difficulties did slaves face

One of the most obvious difficulties slaves faced was being slaves. As a result, they were seen as property and had no rights. They were also treated very poorly, with little regard for their health or even their lives - slaves were often beaten, whipped, raped or killed. The journey from Africa in the slave triangle was also taken in abominable conditions.
