The ban of totalitarian policies on political dissent was one of the major problems with the Soviet Union, along with the inefficient central planning system, due to which the expenditures on the army increased way too much and competition of the arms, with the US became very costly. During the time, the Jewish people were not allowed to leave and inhabit their homeland, Israel.
