    Loyalists (or "Tories") during the American revolution are often somewhat overlooked. The British tried their best to calm loyalist concerns by assuring them that any altercation between the Colonies and Britain would surely end in a British victory, and that any loyalist who wished to immigrate to England during a crisis could do so.
