The Democratic Party was formed is the answer. In 1792, when groups of people supporting Thomas Jefferson started using the name Republicans, or Jeffersonian Republicans, to highlight its anti-aristocratic strategies. It accepted its present-day name during the Presidency of Andrew Jackson in the 1830s and that is how the Democratic Party was created.
