Jackie used 5 times as much water as concentrate in making a batch orange juice. There were 32 more cups of water than concentrate. In equation form let y number of cups of water and x number of cups of concentrate. The first equation is y = 5x and the second equation is y = 32 + x. Equating the two y = 40 and x = 8. In total the orange juice is 48 cups.
