    X+y=8

    10x+y - (10y+x) = 18

    10x-x+y-10y=18

    9x-9y=18

    x-y=2

    x+y=8

    Adding the two equations gives;

    2x=10

    x=5

    Replacing for x in equation 1;

    5+y=8

    y=3

    The number is 53
