A store is having a sale to celebrate President's Day. Every item in the store is advertised as 1/5 off the original price. If an item is marked with a sale price of $140, what was its original price? Show your work

    So 140=origonal price-1/5 so

    represent origonal price with p

    140=4/5p

    multiply both sides by 5/4

    175=p

    the answer is 175
