The area is 30 square units, as calculated by my geometry program, GeoGebra. ___

The top portion can be considered a trapezoid with bases 2 and 4 and height 3, hence area (2+4) / 2*3 = 9. The bottom portion is a rectangle 7*3 = 21 in area. Then the total area is 9+21 = 30 units^2.
