A coin bank contains only pennies and nickels and has a total value of $17.00. If there are 1,140 coins, how many nickels does he have?

    n=5.6/.04

    n=140 the number of nickels.

    1140-140=1000 pennies.

    proof:

    .01*1000+.05*140=17

    10+7=17

    17=17
