Is it possible to bend a 20cm length of wire into the shape of a rectangle which has an area of 30cm2? show work?

    Length = x

    Width = 10-x

    Area = x (10-x) = 10x-x^2

    10-2x=0

    X=5

    Area = 5 x 5 = 25

    It is not possible, the largest area is a square with area of 25 cm^2
