The cabinet has an area of 8 square ft. the cabinet is 6 ft tall. what is the volume of the cabinet? what would the volume of the cabinet be if it were 24 inches shorter?

    (A) The volume is the product of the area of the base and the height.

    V = Bh

    V = (8 ft²) * (6 ft) = 48 ft³

    The volume of the file cabinet is 48 ft³.

    (B) Same deal, shorter height.

    V = (8 ft²) * (4 ft)

    V = 32 ft³

    The volume of the shorter file cabinet is 32 ft³.
