Sandra has 24/5 pounds of flour. Tina brought 23/6 pounds of flour. Sandra estimates that she has more than Tina. is she correct? How could you solve this?

    One of the better ways of addressing this is to convert both fractions to incorporate the LCD. The LCD here is 5 (6) = 30, so

    24/5 = 144/30 and 23/6 = 115/30. Obviously 144/30 is greater than 115/30,

    so 24/5 is greater than 23/6.

    Alternatively, find the decimal equivalents to 24/5 and 23/6 and then compare the results.
