Brady needs three strips that each represent one fourth (1/4). He needs to line them up end to end. The new long strip he has created represents 3/4.

Next Brady needs seven strips that each represent one eighth (1/8). He needs to line them up end to end. The new long strip he has created represents 7/8.

If the two long strips he created were equal then 3/4 would equal 7/8 but as they are not equal this is not the case. Since the strip for 7/8 is longer, the fraction 7/8 is greater than 3/4.
