A traveler drove 150 miles at 50 miles per hour and then 160 miles at 40 miles per hour. How many hours did the drive take altogether?

    Divide 150 by 50 to get that that part of the drive took 3 hours. Then divide 160 by 40 to get that that part of the drive took 4 hours. Therefore, the whole trip took 7 hours.
