    The formula for finding the surface area of a cube is A=6y^2 where y is the side length. we know a=96. so we just isolate y.

    96/6 = 6y^2 / 6

    16=y^2

    sqrt (16) = sqrt (y^2)

    4=y

    So y is 4

    Cube side lengths are all the same. I'm guessing y is one of the sides. To get the surface area you do length X width X 6 (since there are 6 sides). firstly we need to divide 96 by 6. That is 16. Then we divide it by 2 because the length and width are the same. This is 8. The length of one side must be 8m.
