A birdwatcher saw 3 blue jays on the first day of his vacation. Each day after that he saw 2 more blue jays than he did the previous day. On the last day of vacation he saw 27 blue jays. Write an equation that could be solved to find the number of days the birdwatcher was on vacation since the first day.

    N is the number of days the birdwatcher was on vacation since the first day

    3 + (2*n) = 27

    Subtract

    24=2n

    Divide

    N=12

    He was on vacation for 12 total days
