    First set up a propotion to figure out the actual measurement of the side of the table.

    1.25/6.50 = 2.50/x

    Cross multiply

    1.25x = 16.25

    Divide both sides by 1.25

    X = 13

    Plug 13 into the Area of a square formula

    A = side squared

    A = 13^2

    Area of the actual table top is 169 inches^2
