3/4 of a cup. If your friend adds a 1/2 a cup of water, that is equivalent to 2/4 as well. if you add the 1/4 cup of water you added to the 2/4 cup of water your friend added you will see that the two of you have added a total of 3/4 of a cup of water to the paste
