1. There are 10 red marbles and g green marbles in a wave

bag.

The formula to work out the total number of marbles is

T = 10 + g.

Complete the workings to find the value of T when

a) g = 4: T = 10 + ... = ...

b) g = 7: T = ... + ... = ...

ga = 14

gb = 17

Explanation:

It's just simply replacing the empty spaces (let's call those x) and doing the necessary operations. If I gave you T = 10 + x, T would be equal to 10x. Similarly, in the first problem we replace x with the given number g and then do all our operations (T = 10 + g (4)), in the second one, we also have to remember that the formula to calculate T is T = 10 + g. Knowing that, we replace the first blank (y) with 10, and the second blank with our given number g. I hope you do well : D
