    Money spent = money spent on rose + money spent on daisies

    # of roses = # of daisies + 3

    or

    $15 = 3r + 1d

    r = d + 3 or d = r - 3

    $15 = 3r + (r - 3)

    15=4r - 3

    4r=12

    r = $3
