    Almons:walnuts:rasins=1:2:3

    x=pounds of walnuts

    y=pounds of almonds

    z=pounds or rasins

    2x=y

    3x=z

    subsitute

    12x+9y+5z=15

    12x+9 (2x) + 5 (3x) = 15

    12x+18x+15x=15

    45x=15

    divide by 45

    x=1/3

    so

    1/3 pound of walnuts

    2x=y

    2 (1/3) = y=2/3

    2/3 pounds of almonds

    3x=z

    3 (1/3) = z

    1=z

    1 pound of rasins

    1/3 pound walnuts

    2/3 pound almonds

    1 pound rasins
