    Solve the system of linear equations. 9x-19y=74 and 3x+3y=6 3x+3y=6

    Solve equation #2 for x

    3x = 6-3y

    x = 2-y

    Plug x above in equation #1 to find y

    9x-19y=74

    9 (2-y) - 19y = 74

    18 - 9y - 19y = 74

    -28y = 74 - 18

    -28y = 56

    y = 56 / (-28)

    y = - 2

    plug y = - 2 into x = 2-y to look for x

    x = 2 - (-2)

    x = 2 + 2

    x = 4

    OK answer x = 4 and y = - 2

    {x, y} = {4, - 2}
