Two similar polygons have areas of 50 and 100 sq. in. Find the ratio of the length of a pair of corresponding sides.

    In the case that you presented, the ratio is

    50/100 = (x1) ^2 / (x2) ^2

    1/2 = (x1) ^2 / (x2) ^2

    x1 : x2 = 1 : √2

    ^2 means squared
