    Set up a proportion.

    2/6/1/3 = 1/x

    Cross multiply:

    1/3 = 2/6x

    Divide 2/6 to both sides:

    x = 1/3 / 2/6

    Flip the 2nd fraction and multiply:

    x = 1/3 * 6/2

    Multiply the numerators and denominators together:

    x = 6/6

    x = 1

    So Rosy needs 1 bottle of car wax to wax her entire car.

    An easy way to figure this out is that 2/6 is the same as 1/3. And since they are the same, 1 bottle of car wax waxes 1 car.

    2/6 is equal to 1/3 if she used 1/3 of the wax to wax 1/3 of her car then when she has all of her car done, 3/3, she will have used all of the wax 3/3. she used 3/3 of the bottle
