12-Ounce Serving of Salad Per Guest

When it says words like each, or per that means that you multiply them. We'll need to do something called long multiplication.

    118

    x 12

    2*8 = 16

    2*1 = 2

    2*1 = 2

Add those together straight down the column.

    236

Now move on to the next number!

    1*8 = 80

    1*1 = 1

    1*1 = 1

    Add those numbers together.

    1180

Now add both of those numbers together ...

    236+1180 = 1426
