2. He water level is 3 feet below your dock. The ride goes out, and the water level lowers 1 foot. A storm surge comes in, and the water level rises 2 feet. Write and solve an equation to represent the new water level.

    1) if you use a number line you just have to count backwards from 3 to - 4

    3 2 1 0 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 4

    2) the water starts at 3ft then you take away 1ft then add another 2ft to get N the new water level
