    There are 120 hamburgers

    There are 180 hotdogs

    Step-by-step explanation:

    ∵ The cost of h = $2 and the cost of d = $1

    ∵ h + d = 300 ⇒ (1)

    ∵ 2h + d = 420 ⇒ (2)

    Solve (1) and (2)

    Subtract (1) from (2)

    ∴ (2h + d) - (h + d) = 420 - 300

    ∴ h = 120

    ∵ 120 + d = 300

    ∴ d = 300 - 120 = 180
