    4x² - 19x - 5 = 0

    multiply coefficient of x² and the constant.

    here coefficient of x² = 4 and constant = - 5

    4*-5 = - 20

    Coefficient of x = - 19

    so, when you multiply you have to get (-20) and when you subtract you should get - 19

    (-20) * 1 = - 20

    -20 + 1 = - 19

    4x² - 19x - 5 = 0

    4x² - 20x + x - 1*5 = 0

    4x (x - 5) + (x - 5) = 0

    (x - 5) (4x + 1) = 0
