All the dimensions of a parallelogram were multiplied by the same factor. If the area of the parallelogram went from 3 square centimeters to 12 square centimeters, what were the dimensions of the parallelogram multiplied by?

    2 squared centimeters, the dimensions of the first parallelogram has to be 3 by 1 since those are the only 2 numbers that multiply to make 3. If both were multiplied by 2, the dimensions would be 6 and 2 giving you an area of 12.
