Container A has 400 L of water, and is being filled at a rate of 8 liters per minute. Container B has 800 L of water, and is being drained at 6 liters per minute. How many minutes, m, will it take for the two containers to have the same amount of water? Write an equation for the story

    400+8x=800-6x.

    Solving for x, you get 14x=400, and x is around 28.57

    So it takes around 28.57 minutes for them to have the same amount of water.
