    The answer is false.

Exactly 1 tail would mean the probability is 1/2.

When tossing 2 coins the probability of getting one tail is:

    P (HT) + P (TH)

    P (HT) = (1/2) ^2=1/4 and P (TH) = (1/2) ^2=1/4

    P (HT or TH) = 1/4+1/4=2/4=1/2
