How are the area formulas for triangles, parallelograms, and trapizoids related to the area of a rectangle?

    I am not sure about parallelograms and trapezoids, but I do know for a triangle ...

    triangle: b x h x 1/2

    rectangle: b x h

    How these two are related is that two triangles make up one rectangle, so to find the area of a rectangle you divide by two after multiplying the base and height.
