During a research experiment, it was found that the number of bacteria in a culture grew at a rate proportional to its size. At 5 :00 AM there were 6 comma 000 bacteria present in the culture. At noon, the number of bacteria grew to 6 comma 500. How many bacteria will there be at midnight?

    Noon is 12:00

    5am to 12noon is 7 hours

    6,000 to 6,500

    It grew by 500 in 7 hours

    So one hour it is 500/7

    In 12 hours that is from 12noon to 12midnight it will be 12*500/7+6500 since at 12noon it was 6500 that will be 6500+857=7357
