    160 mph

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Speed is the rate of change of distance with time. Mathematically,

    Speed = Distance / time

    Hence time

    = Distance / Speed

    Given that the speed of the car is 110 mph slower than that of a plane, let the speed of the car be y mph hence the speed of the plane

    = (y + 110) mph

    Since the time spent by the plane and the car in covering 480 miles and 150 miles respectively is the same,

    480 / (y + 110) = 150 / y

    480y = 150 y + 16500

    330y = 16500

    y = 50

    The speed of the plane

    = 50 + 110

    = 160 mph
