    First, apply the distributive property.

    So it would be: 2x-5+5=x-11

    Now, simplify like terms.

    2x=x-11

    Bring the x to one side.

    x=-11

    First you will use the distributive property with 1/2

    Thus, giving you 2x-5+5=x-11

    Add like terms and

    2x=x-11

    X should be on one side

    X=-11
