    First simplify so 4 (2x + 14) = 0

    then reorder to get (56 + 8x) = 0

Move all terms that have x to the left, all the other terms to the right.

    add - 56 to each side of this equation summing up to 56 + - 56 + 8x = 0 + - 56

    combine like terms a couple of times to get 0 + - 56 = - 56 8x = - 56

Then divide each side by 8 giving you the answer of x = - 7

    Sorry for the wait.

Perform indicated multiplication on left side of the equation ...

8x+56=0 subtract 56 from both sides

8x=-56 divide both sides by y
